American Sidesaddle Association Instructors or JIC (judge/instructor/clinician) must be proficient riding aside at walk, sitting trot, rising trot, canter, and jumping. Instructors will also take a written exam, teach a small group of 3 to 4 riders, an individual lesson, demonstrate proficiency in saddle fitting, and give a 5 minute lecture on any sidesaddle-related topic.
